ABOUT AJAC STUDIO
THE WORKPLACE OF DESIGNER& ARTIST ANDREW JACOBS
Andrew Jacobs was born in 1999 in Brooklyn, NY. In 2021 he received his Bachelor of Fine art in Furniture Design at the Savannah College of Art & Design.
Although working almost exclusively in wood, Jacobs does not let his materials and processes define his work.
"Most of what I make is not imagined with wood in mind; everything starts as a material-less volume, and wood is the vehicle I use to realize the work. This process often results in a battle between me and the material and lends to my work not prescribing to preconceived notions of the medium. "
In 2022, Jacobs exhibited a pair of limited edition works, "Moon Stools," at his first show with UNIQUE DESIGN GROUP in Savannah, GA.
Most recently, Jacobs exhibited a collection of sculptural works with Radiator, during NY x Design Week 2023.
Jacobs continues to create work challenging the status quo of traditional wood-craft through AJAC STUDIO, a practice he started in 2020.
